Variations of hadron masses and matter properties in dense nuclear matter.

چکیده
Using a self-consistent quark model for nuclear matter we investigate variations of the masses of the non-strange vector mesons, the hyperons and the nucleon in dense nuclear matter (up to four times the normal nuclear density). We find that the changes in the hadron masses can be described in terms of the value of the scalar mean-field in matter. The model is then used to calculate the density dependence of the quark condensate in-medium, which turns out to be well approximated by a linear function of the nuclear density. Some relations among the hadron properties and the in-medium quark condensate are discussed. [email protected] [email protected] 1

Probing Cold and Hot, Dense Nuclear Media Via High-pT Jets with Di-hadron and γ-hadron Correlations at PHENIX
With the recent high statistics Au+Au and Cu+Cu runs at RHIC, it has become possible to systematically study jet properties in several different colliding systems with potentially different final state interactions. In this talk we present results from high-pT di-hadron and γ-hadron correlations from p+p, d+Au, Cu+Cu, and Au+Au collisions where jets in vacuum, cold nuclear matter, and hot, dens...

Modifications of hadron masses and some of their basic properties with temperature or nuclear density are considered as one possible signatures for the formation of dense hadronic matter in nuclear collisions. We discuss here some basic results on the temperature dependence of hadron properties obtained from calculations of hadron correlation functions, the chiral condensate as well as the equa...

We discuss properties of quark matter at finite baryon densities and zero temperature in a Vlasov approach. We use a screened interquark Richardson's potential consistent with the indications of Lattice QCD calculations. We analyze the choices of the quark masses and the parameters entering the potential which reproduce the binding energy (B.E.) of infinite nuclear matter. There is a transition...
متن کاملFinite-temperature corrections in the dilated chiral quark model.
We calculate the finite-temperature corrections in the dilated chiral quark model using the effective potential formalism. Assuming that the dilaton limit is applicable at some short length scale, we interpret the results to represent the behavior of hadrons in dense and hot matter. We obtain the scaling law, fπ(T ) fπ = mQ(T ) mQ ≃ mσ(T ) mσ while we argue, using PCAC, that pion mass does not ...
متن کاملThe Changes in Properties of Hadrons in Nuclei and Nuclear Matter
The changes of hadron properties in dense and/or hot matter are discussed in terms of effective chiral Lagrangians with the parameters of the theory scaled in a simple way. The phenomenologically successful Walecka model is identified as a mean field chiral Lagrangian with the scaled parameters. Kaon condensation and chiral restoration transitions can be described within the same mean field fra...
